Nuestros estudiantes de Primero dieron inicio a la nueva Unidad de Indagación “Cómo nos organizamos” con una hermosa y divertida actividad provocadora: el “Messy Market”.
Al ingresar, los niños encontraron un mercado totalmente desordenado: productos mezclados, sin organización y un espacio que simplemente no funcionaba. Entre sonrisas y sorpresa, comenzaron a explorar y rápidamente notaron que algo debía cambiar.
A partir de sus observaciones, conversaron sobre cómo mejorar el mercado y, de manera colaborativa, decidieron asignar roles: vendedores, compradores y ayudantes encargados de poner todo en orden. Con entusiasmo, organizaron cada producto, transformando el caos en un espacio funcional.
Una vez listo, reabrieron el mercado y utilizaron frases sencillas en inglés para comprar y vender, reforzando el uso del idioma en un contexto significativo.

Provocative Activity – Inquiry Unit: How We Organize Ourselves
Our first-grade students kicked off their new inquiry unit, “How We Organize Ourselves,” with a fun and engaging provocation activity: the “Messy Market.”
When they entered, the students found a completely disorganized market—products mixed together, no structure, and a space that simply wasn’t working. With smiles and surprise, they began exploring and quickly realized that something needed to change.
Based on their observations, they discussed ways to improve the market and collaboratively decided to assign roles: vendors, shoppers, and helpers in charge of cleaning and organizing. With enthusiasm, they arranged each item, transforming chaos into a functional space.
Once everything was ready, they reopened the market and used simple English phrases for buying and selling, strengthening their language skills in a meaningful and authentic context.
