Esta semana, los estudiantes de grado tercero iniciaron su nueva Unidad de Indagación “Cómo funciona el mundo”, asumiendo el rol de pizzeros. A través de la experiencia de cocinar, dieron sus primeros pasos en la exploración de la materia, sus propiedades físicas y los cambios físicos y químicos que ocurren al transformar los ingredientes en pizza.
Esta vivencia despertó en ellos interrogantes sobre cómo funciona el mundo, preguntas que resolverán a lo largo de la unidad. Además, la actividad promovió una reflexión sobre la importancia de conocer la materia en la vida cotidiana, comprendiendo cómo su uso genera tanto beneficios como desafíos para la sociedad.

Matter Is Amazing
This week, the third-grade students began their new Unit of Inquiry, “How the World Works”, by taking on the role of pizza makers. Through the experience of cooking, they took their first steps in exploring matter, its physical properties, and the physical and chemical changes that occur when transforming ingredients into pizza.
This hands-on experience sparked questions about how the world works—questions they will explore throughout the unit. In addition, the activity encouraged reflection on the importance of understanding matter in everyday life, recognizing how its use brings both benefits and challenges to society.
